💡 Why are full ceramic ball bearings used in high temperature and corrosive environments?
Full ceramic bearings eliminate metal contact and reduce chemical and thermal breakdown in demanding conditions.
-
Zirconia ceramic resists rust, acids, and moisture better than steel
-
Low thermal expansion helps keep running clearance stable at high heat
-
Electrical insulation prevents current damage in motors and precision systems
-
PTFE cages handle heat and reduce friction without oil heavy lubrication
A handy choice for equipment that needs clean running, heat resistance, and long life in tough operating conditions.
I am using this bearing in an wet corrosive enviromnmt at relatively low RPMs and low load. The application requires very low drag where sealed metal bearings cannot be used and grease or oil would contaiminte the solution. Without the seals the bearings freeze and require frequent replacement. Glass ball bearings with acetal inner outer races are not chemically campatible. The full ceramic bearings are great! The bearings are fairly expensive but I expect to last a very long time and well worth the initial cost.
