Heat Surge fireplace fan bushing replace

3D Printing VXB Miniature Ball Bearings

Based on Professor Eric Laithwaite's sketch of a toy train turned by a gyroscope I used a CAD program to make the rotor-in-a-channel design and had it printed with a 3D printer in plastic. In order for the rotor to spin without friction I mounted VXB bearings on the rotor. Just as he said the momentum of the gyro was transferred to the rotor causing it to spin in the outer channel. The precision of the printing and bearings made this project successful.
