Hard to find bearings January 12, 2013
Reviewer: Robin from New Ulm, Minnesota
I used the bearings to support an alternator so that the alternator could swing up and down and then I made a bracket and clevis to hold a long bolt. I placed a spring over the bolt and secured the end of the bolt with a washer and lock nut and tightened it down until the alternator belt had just the right tension. The spring will keep the belt adjustment even as the belt stretches some as they normally do when you first put them on. This set up works just like the idler pulleys used on new cars. The bearing worked great keeping the alternator in alignment and being able to move as the belt stretches..

Needed thrust bearings to eliminate rough and sticky feel of the cross slide and compound slide of my mini lathe (7 X12).  These bearings are "just what the doctor ordered"  made the operation of the slides as smooth as you would like them to be.  Dimensions of these bearings were spot-on as described.  Installation  after small modifications was very easy  what a difference!!!!
